My wired PS3 controller is connected, but isn't working?

The controller may have become disconnected due to inactivity.  Press the "Home" button to awaken it.

Confirm that your controller is assigned channel 1. Refer to the PS3™ User Guide or their support website for further instructions on changing channels.
